Golf professional Tony Buckner and students from Bucks New Uni have enabled Horizon to hold golf sessions for 20 of our youth members (aged 14-20). Three sessions were held in April and May 2010 and were a great success.
Ten Horizon athletes attended the Indoor Athletics Championships in Windsor in February and all ten won medals. A fantastic day for everyone involved.
Plans are underway to develop the youth section. Suggested sports are:
These are only suggested as venues and coaches have to be sought.
Discussions are being held with Sir William Ramsay School to look into building a sunken Trampoline Hall.
High Wycombe Parish Church was the venue for a family nativity. It was performed by Horizon young members and was attended and enjoyed by over 150 people, a real baby Jesus and a sheep dog! Many assistants came along to help the children and families.
Horizon celebrates its 10 year Anniversary on the 5th December with a Family Nativity Service at All Saints Church, High Wycombe.
In April 2008, the Bucks Foundation granted £10,000 to Horizon towards sustainable funds - this keeps the club afloat until January 2009.
The Club currently has 40 juniors and 34 in youth sections.
Waiting lists are growing and we envisage developing the youth section further by 2009.
At present, we have no plans to develop the junior sections but, because of demand, we will review the situation in 2009.
